The cyber Center of Excellence in Secure and Resilient Systems (CESARS) was created to (1) foster collaboration among government, industry, and academia; (2) advance and accelerate innovation in technology; and (3) create the necessary knowledge-based workforce to support the growing demands for cyber professionals. Today, CESARS is focused on supporting Air Force Global Strike Command and its cyber-enabled Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (NC3) infrastructure, “cyber surety,” and cyber resilience needs. LTRI, through this Center of Excellence, will establish and expand partnerships with federal departments and agencies, national laboratories, academic institutions, and industry utilizing the vast cyber education and applied research resources of Louisiana Tech University. CESARS is founded upon three pillars: a robust cyber range capability; cybersecurity research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E); and cyber education and training. It will target goals and challenges in managing and protecting critical infrastructure security and resilience by cultivating a unique collaborative environment between the government, industry, and academia. It seeks to enhance situational awareness to identify threats, increase disaster preparedness, and improve incident response.
